Model Home Perfection

I was reviewing photos of my very first model home design and I was having a proud moment that I needed to share! When creating my own design firm, I never would have imagined the success I could achieved and the fulfillment creating beautiful spaces would give me!

This model home has been layered with texture and pattern to create an inviting feel for potential home owners. Being an open concept floor plan, the great room had to have an instant wow factor and this was achieved by the high impact kitchen design. With unique chrome pendants hung above the 8 foot rustic slate grey island and the contrasting painted white perimeter cabinets enhance the ever growing design trend of 2015, two toned kitchens.

Details: Styling your Space

The fine details of a room enhance the character, originality and adds a boost of personality to the design.

Feature Walls:

Hang your favorite photos, mirrors and artwork in an unique way to create the perfect focal wall that will liven up a drab living space. My basement living area needed some character and by hanging a variety of wall art in a unique, yet still balanced way, I was able to achieved a successful, fun feature wall.

By hanging artwork or photos in a linear or geometric pattern it creates a more formal look with clean lines and continuity. This look is often achieved by using the same frame or frame color and meticulously measuring out the ideal pattern. Overall, the end result is quite striking.

This brilliant design features a stunning feature wall by placing wood and mirror in a striped pattern. Not only does this look beautiful but it is functional by allowing the space to appear larger then it is.

Industrial Loft Design

This Portland loft design has a brilliant mix of industrial and rustic elements. The cool white walls surrounded with sleek black trim and ceiling adds the perfect contrast to this loft. There is an open flow from room to room carrying warm wood tones, stainless steel and white furnishings.

This custom, over sized stainless barn door is a beautifully unique way to separate the living area and the bedroom with ease. The black hardware suites the space and adds a focal to the wall.

DESIGN OF THE WEEK...

ELLE DECOR

This fashion blogger has a striking eye on layering textures and creating a warm welcoming space with a minimal approach. The animal hide layered on top of the chunky knitted area rug is one of my favorite looks and she has done it so well!

DESIGN OF THE WEEK...

A Traditional Hampton's Estate

Traditional designs do not have to consist of floral fabric, antiques and oversized moldings! This chic great room design complete with a three toned kitchen, two islands, a dinette and a living space with a beautiful view of the country. The warm neutral tones of the furnishings make the space inviting and bring the outdoors in. A bit of glitz and shine in the chandeliers are also an absolute must!

Eclectic Texas Home

A Neo-Prairie style home in the heart of Austin, Texas designed for the Parade of Homes. Modern exterior lines with contrasting rustic stone finishes make this home a stunning sight amidst the desert landscape.

Geometric wall moldings give interest to the boring white walls and pops of citrus yellow, grey, black and white throughout the entire interior create a cohesive overall design. The beautiful light fixtures chosen for the home are whimsically oversized and pull the very tall ceilings down to a comfortable level.

Concrete floors

Concrete floors give a sleek, smooth look that can be applied in a traditional or a modern design. I can not help but love the simple look. If you are worried about your space being cold then add an area carpet to warm the room.

Industrial Loft

When describing the idea of a loft, the images that come to mind are large open spaces with exposed piping and large expansive window lines. Typically we see strictly man-made materials, concrete and clean lines.

This exquisite Barcelona loft crafted with innovation by Estudio Egue Y Seta, has all of these features but is able to make the space feel warm, inviting and grounded by using soft natural greenery and gives a whole new look to a modern loft.

The walls are clad with a wall oak wood with hints of exposed red brick which create a soft backdrop to the natural greenery. The sunken living room, with built-in bench seats, and large glass walls gives the sight lines from room to room an easy flow.

Eames plasic molded eiffel chairs add the modern element to the coppery toned, warm eat-in kitchen. This beautiful loft space was originally a toy store and has now been transformed into a functional, inviting home.

Mirrors

Not only do mirrors add reflective surfaces and give the illusion of a larger space, they can also be a statement art piece. A perfect way to add sparkle with this great Casalife starburst mirror!

Furniture

A mirrored side table or console table is not only a functional piece of furniture, but a very pretty reflective statement piece. Furniture with glass, mirror or metallic finishes all add glam to your room.

Lighting

Lighting can make a huge statement in any space. A chandelier with glass and crystal is a perfect way to add sparkle and shine. This Restoration Hardware light fixture would look great over an island or dining table.
