Mid-century Soft Mod

Warm wood tones with vibrant accents, elevate this mid-century modern home located in Houston, Texas. The exterior embraces clean, simples lines with stacked, multi-level stone bringing a pleasing texture to the eye. Large black trimmed windows and doors allow an abundance of natural light to flow through the home.

The eye catching chandelier enhances the modern feel to this living room space, as well as the textured stone fireplace, with warm wood paneling. Light coloured flooring throughout this great room opens up the room and allows the space to feel larger.

Design of the Week: Pretty Pastels

The neutral backdrop has allowed the pastel accents to truly pop! Shades of coral, blue and yellow give a bright and cheerful atmosphere and the black, zebra area rug anchors the space and brings it all together. A great design tip - if you are not ready to commit fully to a wallpaper, adhere the paper to canvases and create the perfect wall art!

It's all about the Tub!

What started with the ever classic claw foot tub has now transformed new shapes, sizes and styles of free standing, soaker tubs to the world of design. A great soaker tub is an essential for all homes. Not only is it a luxurious experience in your own home but it is a stunning piece of furniture that lends itself to great design.
From square to oval, free standing tubs come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suite the needs of the space and the client.
To add glitz and glam to your tub, faucets can be the perfect accessory. From a traditional shining chrome, wall mounted faucet to a contemporary, muted, brushed nickel floor mounted faucet and hose, there are endless possibilities that will add the perfect touch to your free standing tub.
Remember to consider the design style you would like to achieve when selecting the tub to ensure you will enhance the overall look and feel of your bathroom retreat!

DESIGN OF THE WEEK

CLEAN LINES WITH RUSTIC ELEMENTS

Marble countertops, shaker cabinetry and white paint make up this clean lined kitchen, but add reclaimed beams, floating shelves and iron to the mix and we have a stunning juxtaposition of materials and design styles. One of my favorite elements in this design is the subtle chevron, wood floor!

DESIGN OF THE WEEK...

A Traditional Hampton's Estate

Traditional designs do not have to consist of floral fabric, antiques and oversized moldings! This chic great room design complete with a three toned kitchen, two islands, a dinette and a living space with a beautiful view of the country. The warm neutral tones of the furnishings make the space inviting and bring the outdoors in. A bit of glitz and shine in the chandeliers are also an absolute must!

Eclectic Texas Home

A Neo-Prairie style home in the heart of Austin, Texas designed for the Parade of Homes. Modern exterior lines with contrasting rustic stone finishes make this home a stunning sight amidst the desert landscape.

Geometric wall moldings give interest to the boring white walls and pops of citrus yellow, grey, black and white throughout the entire interior create a cohesive overall design. The beautiful light fixtures chosen for the home are whimsically oversized and pull the very tall ceilings down to a comfortable level.

My recent trip to Los Cabos, Mexico has been a major inspiration in the way of outdoor living. This stunning outdoor dining area reflects a casual yet elegant oasis to entertain guests. The tall stone walls and flowing white draperies add to the intimacy of the space.

Mirrors

Not only do mirrors add reflective surfaces and give the illusion of a larger space, they can also be a statement art piece. A perfect way to add sparkle with this great Casalife starburst mirror!

Furniture

A mirrored side table or console table is not only a functional piece of furniture, but a very pretty reflective statement piece. Furniture with glass, mirror or metallic finishes all add glam to your room.

Lighting can make a huge statement in any space. A chandelier with glass and crystal is a perfect way to add sparkle and shine. This Restoration Hardware light fixture would look great over an island or dining table.
