CLEAN LINES WITH RUSTIC ELEMENTS

Marble countertops, shaker cabinetry and white paint make up this clean lined kitchen, but add reclaimed beams, floating shelves and iron to the mix and we have a stunning juxtaposition of materials and design styles. One of my favorite elements in this design is the subtle chevron, wood floor!

There is nothing better than adding a pop to any room with a striking pattern. Here are a few easy ways to add pattern to your space!

Wallpaper

Wallpaper is one of my favorite ways to add a beautiful pattern! Choose a bold pattern that will create a statement in your room.

Tile

To make a subtle statement, select a plain tile and lay it in a unique way, such as the herringbone subway tile!

Accessories & Fabrics


Add pattern with accessories, rugs, pillows and curtains to add a pop that can easily be changed out! Don't be afraid of layering patterns! The more patterns, the more interest.

The Shaker Door

One of the most popular and versatile cabinetry door style is the shaker door. With a clean rail and a 90 degree profile this door is not only simple but very pleasing to the eye. Whether trying to achieve a traditional or a modern design, the shaker door is perfect and with a slight adjustment in the finish and the hardware your look is easily completed!

Contemporary Grey Kitchen

Grey custom cabinetry and contemporary design go hand in hand. This beautifully designed kitchen features granite countertops, a custom range hood, a stunning plum range and a subtle white subway backsplash. This medium grey tone gives this kitchen its own unique feel rather then seeing the traditional white painted cabinetry. 

Barn to Sleek Modern Home

This gorgeous 7,000 square foot English home has been converted from a barn to this stunning artsy space. The integrity of the structure has been kept intact and by adding the interior walls to slightly section off the spaces make this stunning home extremely unique.

Kitchens...

Kitchens are one of the most loved places in our homes and therefore so much attention and detail go into their designs. Houzz recently surveyed people on everything kitchens and some very interested research came from this.

Cambria Quartz, Galloway

1. Most people absolutely hate laminate and tile countertops and 50 percent of people polled actually choose granite for their favorite tops. Quartz was a close second with 36 percent. My personal opinion is that although granite is beautiful it does have some maintenance and upkeep that comes along with having the natural stone, such as properly sealing your granite every five years and watch out for red wine spills because it will stain! Quartz is my go to top and there are so many stunning patterns and colors now to choose from.





2. 75 percent of pollers said they would like their kitchen to have soft neutral colors throughout. This is no surprise to me as a neutral color palette is a classic look that will stand the test of time. A kitchen renovation is one of the most expensive projects in your home and it is just not feasible to redesign it when a new trend appears!

3. Most people also like the idea of having an open concept kitchen with a large island for guest to congregate.

There are so many great design & storage ideas when you are starting your kitchen renovation. It is always a good idea to consult a designer to focus your design because it can be an overwhelming process and trying to incorporate too many ideas may create a chaotic end product.

Renovated Contemporary Barn...

This Los Angeles renovated home has a unique contemporary, rustic look. It has incorporated reclaimed barnboard stairs, antler chandeliers, custom cabinetry and millwork and an overall neutral palette. I find each room very intriguing and includes many different design styles in one. Enjoy!

Stainless Steel?

Such a radiant unique kitchen design! I love the use of stainless steel throughout the entire kitchen.The pottery accessories and flowers take away the sterile feel of the kitchen and give warmth to the space. Could you live with this stainless look or would all those fingerprints drive you mad?
